August 12, 1956 - October 18, 2021
Timothy Lee Brecheen, 65, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday morning, October 18, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City after a short battle with cancer. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 12, 1956 to Charles and Rita (Boisjoly) Brecheen, Tim grew up with three rowdy brothers and one adoring older sister. He lived most of his life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he graduated from Putnam City High School in 1974. He then proudly joined the family business, owning and operating Brecheen Brothers Carpet Area Rugs and Flooring with his mother and brothers for many years. After retirement, Tim took on a new endeavor and founded the Rug Emporium. Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees played an important part in Tim’s life. He called it his happy place. In his younger years Tim would spend entire days boating and skiing, heading out on the water at daybreak and returning at sunset. He loved creating memories with his family on the lake, whether taking wild rides on the jet ski, hanging out fishing, relaxing on the pontoon, or just chilling on the deck enjoying the serenity of lake life and telling stories. This is where he was most at peace. Tim sported the coolest Hawaiian shirts, the biggest smile, and the most contagious laugh. Dennet Rupp fell in love with his special style and affinity for classic 70s rock, and the two were blessed with 26 years of marriage. Tim enjoyed cruises and traveling, and he shared this sense of adventure with his family. He also had a deep appreciation for just being at home with his loved ones, slowing down to take in everyday moments with his children and tend to his koi pond. Tim had a gift for finding joy where others overlooked it, and because of this he left a little extra light behind. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rita, and infant brother John Scott. Tim is survived by his wife and love of his life, Dennet Brecheen, and their daughter, Logan and son, Parker; daughters from a previous marriage, Tobi and Tricia Brecheen; grandchildren, Cole, Kenley, and Adley; sister, Sandy Chrislip; brothers, Mike, David, and Glenn Brecheen; brothers in-law, Tim Chrislip and Arnold Rupp; sisters-in-law, Cindy, Kim, and Emily Brecheen, Carla Rupp, January Zimmerman, and Tonya Wheeler; and many treasured nieces and nephews. Services to remember and celebrate Tim's life will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, at 2:00PM at Crawford Family Funeral Service in Edmond, Oklahoma. A come-and-go visitation will be held the evening prior, Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 5:00PM-7:00PM.
