Samuel F. Mains III

June 25, 1950 - September 16, 2020

Samuel Frederick Mains III passed away in Oklahoma City the afternoon of September 16, 2020 with many loved ones by his side including his four children. Sam was born June 25, 1950 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. Sambo grew up enjoying sports, fishing and hunting with his brothers and friends. He graduated from Altus High School and went on to earn a business degree from the University of Central Oklahoma before beginning a career in the Oil & Energy Industry. Sam is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Frederick Mains Jr., Maxine LaVon McMahan, step-mother Julia Mains, step-father John Robert McMahan, wife Karen Mains, as well as his brother Danny Mains. Sam is survived by his love Daisy Moore, his brother Mike Mains, children Samuel Frederick Mains IV, Shae Gregston, Jeff & Lauren Mains, and Drew Mains as well as his grandchildren, Samuel Frederick Mains V, Ryan Mains, Brody Mains, Brixton Mains, Cash Mains, and Nixon Mains, stepdaughters Katey Anderson and Lindsay Cavallo. With Daisy by his side, Sam has spent the last years of his life happily playing with grandchildren and golfing, both of which he was naturally talented at. Sam will be sorely missed by family and many friends. Nobody was a stranger to Sam. His smile and warm hug was welcomed to all. There will be a memorial for friends & family to share memories and celebrate Sam at the Guthrie Country Club on Saturday October 10th at 4pm.
