Nathan Andrew Silagyi
September 3, 2004 - November 21, 2019
With the exception of homework and chores, Nate was all in. “This is the best day of my life!” “This is the worst day of my life!” Nate was always known to live life to the fullest and to its extremes. Nathan Andrew Silagyi was born 9/3/2004 and passed on 11/21/2019. He was an avid reader. He would stay up reading late into the night to finish a good book. Often, he’d read his favorite series multiple times. He would read everything and anything, and would remember it all. Not known to many, he was also a wonderful writer and he was working on his first adventure book. Nate was full of compassion. In elementary school, there were days he would come home from school and was sad because the teacher was mad “at the class” for something the class did, but he always took it to heart as if he had done it (even when he did not). He would stick up for his friends or for someone who was being picked on and would make sure the teacher knew. He loved his friends and hated injustice, cliques, or bullying. Nate had a mature sense of humor to the point that sometimes kids would not understand his jokes. He could not stand potty humor, but loved the clever delivery of a dry sense of humor, like The Office. He was an adventure and enjoyed movies, hiking, and travel. He loved Marvel movies, Star Wars everything, the Lord of the Rings movies, and Stranger Things TV show. We would try to make every fan event movie showing. We visited Universal Orlando multiple times and even went to New Zealand for a Lord of the Rings adventure. He was also not a destination person, but rather one who enjoyed the journey. On many hikes this would be frustrating for me, his dad, because he wanted to pick up and look over every rock, tree, and inch of the hike to gain its full enjoyment because the world to him was so full of life to be enjoyed and not overlooked. Nathan will be missed dearly by his parents, Dez and Missy Silagyi, and, best friend/brother, Jack. He has been such a blessing to our life for this short time and I hope that how he has been a blessing to everyone will be what is remembered rather than the way he passed. We have so many great and thankful memories with Nate. We are asking those who come to his ceremony wear or bring something that reflects Nate’s likes and personality. I plan to wear my Captain America T-Shirt that I wore to every Marvel movie. Nate and I would incessantly talk about the movie, what the after-credit scenes meant, or hidden “Easter Eggs” in the movie for days [weeks and months]. The memorial table holds just a few of Nate’s treasures. Please enjoy them and even share some of the great ways Nate has blessed and impacted your life. Love, Dez, Missy, and Jack. A memorial service to remember and celebrate Nate's life will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond, OK, at 10:00AM. Please check back soon for an updated obituary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation on Nate's behalf, of which the funds will be put forward towards teen counseling.
