April 21, 1926 - June 29, 2021
Mary A. Baker, 95, passed away on June 29, 2021, at her home in Edmond, shortly after having called her family together for one last “party”. She was born April 21, 1926, in Miles, Texas, the youngest daughter of the seven children of Pearl Jaley Rogers and Robert Lee Bailey. She married Fred Baker on July 10, 1954, and together they had three children, Patty (Mike) Crews, Willie (Candy) Baker, of Stillwater, and Debbie (Frank) Jackson Merola, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives through her extended family. Mary and Fred enjoyed 65 years of marriage until Fred passed in November 2019. Mary was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, as well as a dear, dear friend to many. Although known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Honey”, that nickname does not begin to describe her sweet, kind and loving nature. She and Fred loved to spend time with their grands and great grands and together attended many of their activities. Mary’s siblings and their children (the “Bailey Clan”) would annually gather together in San Angelo, Dalhart, Oklahoma City and other places to celebrate the bond and love they all shared for one another. She loved her family dearly, and had photos throughout her home of each and every one. She is survived by her son Willie and daughter Debbie, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many other beloved relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, husband Fred, and daughter Patty. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from noon to 7 p.m., with her family to be present for greeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at Crawford Funeral Services, 610 NW 178th Street, Edmond, Oklahoma. Graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A very special and heartfelt thanks from the family to Charlotte, Denise and Good Shepherd Hospice, who lovingly cared for our Honey during the latter months of her life. Donations in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.
