She is also survived by her in-laws, (Mom) Jean Human, (Dad) Vern Heddlesten, Carol Heddlesten and (Grandma) Mae Heddlesten; siblings, Debbie Turner, Lee Heddlesten and family; Tracy Noland and Patricia Thatcher. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends that were important to her. The following is not an exhaustive list, so please don't be offended or upset, if your name was not listed. Andrea Shafran, Allie Tyler, Cory Sullivan, Lauren Hemry, Jennifer Lemmo, Greg and Beverly Blakely and Suszy, Byron and Jackie Mahaffey as well as the deceased Allison Mahaffey. Dawn was born on July 5th, 1975 in Edmond, OK to Susan Lide and Mark Tyler. As a child she was fond of dancing and singing, and would easily make friends with any other children that were around her. Dawn was a caring sister, doting on her preemie baby brother James the minute he was able to come home from the hospital. She would proudly display him to the neighborhood children and other visitors through the screen door window when he was still too small to have visitors. She enjoyed school as a child and young adult, especially her time in high school. While in high school she made many lasting memories and lifelong friendships. Much of her time was spent as an athletic trainer for the various sports teams. She graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1993. Not too long after high school, Dawn married her first husband Adam Vascellaro and together they had two boys. Ethan arrived in 1998 and Alec in 1999. Dawn enjoyed being a mother, and even though she spent some time apart from her children, she never stopped thinking about them. She was a loving and patient mother, who encouraged them to pursue their goals as they grow older but to never be too serious. A saying she often used, when her children were younger, and that everyone could stand to hear every now and then was, "Be patient and listen." Dawn was a generous individual, who was always willing to sit down and listen to what someone else had to say. She loved to talk with friends and always clicked well with anyone who seemed to appreciate her sick sense of humor. Dawn could always find the humor in or make light of even some of the most serious situations. She married Tom Heddlesten in 2011 after dating for a few years and they spent much of their time together hosting family events, spending time with friends, and going on trips and raising their children. Dawn and Tom were meant to be together and loved each other with all their hearts. They really enjoyed the times that they got to go to Mexico together. That was really where she felt truly at home. The year 2011 marked many big changes for Dawn. After attending OSU-OKC for two years, she earned an associates degree as well as her RN license. During her years at OSU-OKC dawn was the head of the Student Nursing Association and made quite the impression on people and left her time there with many new friends. Dawn enjoyed being a nurse and helping other people. Becoming a nurse was one of her greatest accomplishments. She worked at multiple places as a nurse, but she enjoyed her time in the operating rooms at Mercy Hospital the most. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th at 2:30 p.m. The services will be at Crawford Family Funeral & Cremation Services located at 610 NW 178th Street, Edmond, OK 73012. The reception will follow at 4:30 p.m. and will be held at The Villages at Coffee Creek East Clubhouse located at 3116 Shortgrass Road, Edmond, OK 73003.
