August 4, 1950 - January 19, 2022
Carolyn Ruth Mitchell Natsch passed away on January 19, 2022 after a short but courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Carolyn was born on August 4, 1950, in Boone County Arkansas to LC and Velda Mitchell. She attended several grade schools across the country and graduated from Lockwood High School, Lockwood MO in 1968. She married Bob Natsch in 1979 and they spent the next 42 years together. Early in life Carolyn developed a love of reading and an overall quest for knowledge, which led her to enroll at Missouri State University (then SMS); for classes, while also working full time to address that yearning. She was well read in many different subjects, while also enjoying the works of many current day novelists and maintained an extensive personal library. She was an avid music lover, with a large collection of titles throughout many different genres. Carolyn was a long-time advocate for women’s rights and was an early member of the National Organization for Women. She believed in equality for all, and in a free, fair, and open government by, of and for the people. Carolyn was a talented designer-maker of paper arts of all kinds, especially greeting cards. She was an accomplished rubber stamper that enjoyed creating just the perfect designs for friends and family. She utilized rubber stamping techniques and incorporated them with special processes, digital images and complimenting papers and decorations, to produce thoughtful and stunning creations. Carolyn loved to travel and enjoyed visiting scenic places in the US, and in the Caribbean. She loved the oceans and beaches most of all and planned more trips post pandemic until interrupted by her illness. She loved taking photographs of all the things she had seen and the places she had been. Carolyn is survived by her husband Bob; brother Philip Mitchell, niece Kish Mitchell and partner Guy; nephews Craig Lepper and Noah Mitchell; along with many other nieces, nephews, and relatives. She is also survived by the greatest group of friends that anyone could ask for. She will truly be missed by all. Plans for a memorial service for Carolyn at a later date are pending; with arrangements directed by Crawford Family Funeral Service of Edmond Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations to the OKC Friends of the Library or The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma are requested.
